Fight At Packed Groton Park Causes Panic, Hundreds Flee, Police Say
Hundreds of Connecticut parkgoers were sent into a panic and ran after two men got into a fight, and one allegedly showed a weapon.
The incident occurred in New London County around 1 p.m., Saturday, May 11, at Poquonnock Plains Park in Groton.
According to Capt. Gregory McCarthy of the Groton Police, at the time of the incident, the park was the site of several youth sporting events with several hundred spectators in attendance.

Two men and a woman were accused of firing gunshots from the balcony of a hotel near the beachfront in Atlantic City, authorities said.
In a news release on Tuesday, May 7, Atlantic City police said 42-year-old Corey Brown of Chesapeake, VA, 43-year-old Malik Dean of Philadelphia, and 41-year-old Zara Griffiths of Paoli, PA, were arrested on Saturday, May 5.
